The book One True Bear by Ted Dewan is about a little boy named Damian who was looking for his one true bear. Bear after bear which came from Bear Force was not measuring up to the task of being with Damian. All of the other bears were terrified of going to be with Damian. However, this one bear Darcy Brewster was brave enough and volunteered to go and be with him.

The illustrations from One True Bear were actually drawn by several children. Not just one hand played a part with the beautiful illustrations that were displayed throughout the book. Illustrations in this book shows a very high energetic young boy who plays very rough with his toys but in the end, learns to love and appreciate this one teddy bear named Darcy Brewster.

Teachers should read this book to students because it will teach them how to respect their toys and if they don't then they wont have any left to play with. This would be a great book for children beginning from the age of 2 and up. Ask the students what do you think will happen if you tear up all of your toys? Do you think that your parents should buy you more toys if you don't appreciate them? Why or Why not?

Classroom Activities:
1. Have the students to bring in all of their broken toys that they believed could be fixed and brought back to life. The entire day of class the students will be fixing on their toys bringing them back to life.

2. Have the student think of ways in which they could have their own toy rescue going around in the neighbor fixing on the broken toys of young children.

I would highly recommend this book to young children especially those that are always breaking their toys.
