The Please and Thank You Book written by Barbara Shook Hazen and illustration by Emile Chollat is about many different animals showing respect for others, some showing manners, some not having manners, some being messy, some saying please and thank you, some not being nice, some being sad and some sharing.

The illustrations within this book are amazing. It really shows in great detail with the animals either being messy, mean, sharing, and being very helpful. The animals really come to life within the book of the certain characters they are playing. The illustrations are bright and they show exactly what the animals are being taught in the book.

I really love the way the author rhymed throughout the book it really catches the readers attention. Not only did the author rhyme but the wording of the book was hilarious as well also.

Teachers and parents should read this book to their students as well as their own children. The Please and Thank You Book would be great for children from ages 1-6 but more so the younger aged children. I think this book would be great for students who are the only child and not use to sharing with other children. Teachers should ask the question to students. What does it mean to share? Should you always say please and thank you? What happens when you don't say please and thank you?

Classroom activities:
1. Conduct a class activity that requires the students to need assistant from a fellow classmate, resulting in the student saying please and thank you.
2. Have a clean up day around campus where the students must all work together in cleaning up the school grounds by putting all of the recycling items into a bin and trash in another

I would highly recommend that parents and teachers have this book on hand.
